So many people=so many stories!

When I first took this job I mentioned how I was excited to meet new people. It is crazy how much of that has already happened. Granted I have not had extremely lengthy conversations, but I still have each person’s face in my mind. Our work shirts say Camfel Productions, so with that and staying at several hotels, I have had many conversations. This does not even include the people we meet at schools.

Last week while I was working I went over to Subway for lunch and started talking with a teacher who worked with mentally and physically disabled students. Saturday, just a few days later, I was walking to the park and walked with a lady from our condo down the street a few blocks. Sunday I was in Barnes and Noble looking for the book Life Together by Dietrich Bonhoeffer(ironically a book about community), and a lady by the name of Maria started asking me about women’s devotionals, ones I’ve read and what she was looking for. Maria and I ended up talking for at least 15 minutes about God and the hurts in this world. We discussed how God is the right way and no matter what we should never cease to trust and follow him. I love these conversations! Although they are quick, they are refreshing to hear people’s stories, learn more about those the Creator loves, and simply just enjoy a little fellowship.

Every time I walk away from a conversation I am reminded to pray for them. There is so much more about them, joys, challenges, hurts, family, happiness, etc.
Staying at the bed and breakfast was no exception. We had wonderful hosts who asked us about what we were doing as well as sharing how they became owners of the place and where they were from. They were a delightful couple, and it really added to the experience. This morning as we ate breakfast, an AMAZING one at that, there was an older retired couple eating breakfast with us. The entire meal we talked with them. They are from Spokane, WA and are driving to several places in the Midwest and southwest simply to explore and be together. It is always amazing to have connections. This couple annually retreats to Cannon Beach, OR which is only a little way north of the camp I lived at. It was a special piece of home to get to talk to them about familiar areas!

Each of these interactions have been simple, but I am grateful for each one. Every person we walk by, drive, by, talk with, has story to tell and as we all know personally our stories take a long time to tell and they are always being added to. I love even hearing bits and pieces which add to my own story!
