Away we go!

Today marked the beginning of my tour to the Midwest. Dorina and I set out this morning from Los Angeles headed to Colorado. We have now embarked on our journey of staying in hotels, seeing new sights, meeting a lot of people, trying new restaurants, and living life on the road! We will not be in once place for more than a few days at a time.

I was so excited while I was driving today. I became really excited when we entered Nevada for two reasons, one because I had never been there before, also because I saw several real cactus! Oh my simple joys! We also drove through a small portion of Arizona and finally stayed in Utah this evening. Here are some pictures from the road:

In Nevada :)

The beauty in Arizona:

Altogether we drove about 8 1/2 hours today with about the same tomorrow. Friday morning we have a show at a school in Colorado. We have been looking online for hotels as we go. You really never know what you are going to get, especially since we are staying within a certain budget.  Granted we are simply trying to find a place to sleep each night, but each hotel has a different level of cleanliness, hospitality, etc.

Today Dorina and I found a cute Bed and Breakfast in Gunnison, UT. We arrived around 8pm and already it has been wonderful! The couple that owns the place is very friendly, we have a nice room in a quiet neighborhood and a wonderful home-like atmosphere-- plus we get to wake up to a full breakfast! It makes it so much for relaxing when you are in a place like this!

Who knows what other places we will find ourselves at this year!
